The African National Congress (ANC) welcomes President Ramaphosa’s appointment of Adv. Kholeka Gcaleka as the new Public Protector of South Africa. We believe that Adv. Gcaleka’s appointment will further strengthen the institution of the Public Protector, ensuring its continued ability to safeguard the principles of accountability, transparency, and good governance.

The ANC remains committed to the principles of constitutional democracy and has a full understanding of the importance of having an independent and fearless Public Protector.
