As a criminal court Judge in New York City and former City Human Rights Commissioner, it may seem unusual for me to appear here to testify about South Africa. However, I appear since recently I spent ten days in South Africa as one of two observers for my church, the American Protestant Episcopal Church, at the trial in Johannesburg of the Dean of the Anglican Cathedral there.
