The African National Congress (ANC) invites members of the media to apply for accreditation, to cover the historic 70th Anniversary of the Freedom Charter, which will be marked by a Mass Public Lecture delivered by the President of the ANC, Comrade Cyril Ramaphosa.

This commemorative lecture will take place at the birthplace of the Freedom Charter, as follows:

Venue: Freedom Square, Kliptown, Soweto
Date: Thursday, 26 June 2025

This event forms part of the ANC’s Youth Month programme under the theme: “The People Shall Govern:

Youth, Struggle, and the Charter.” It will reflect on the enduring legacy of the Freedom Charter and mobilise new generations around its transformative vision.
