- 12 December 2025
The African National Congress (ANC) has noted the arrest of Regional Secretary in Bojanala, North West Province, Cde Raymond Moraile and Madibeng Municipality MMC Cde Peter Legong, following an operation conducted by the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) relating to allegations of corruption linked to a municipal tender. The ANC respects and support the work of law-enforcement agencies and reaffirms its commitment to the rule of law and due process.
In line with the ANC Constitution, the Integrity Commission processes, and resolutions of the movement, including the clear outcomes of the recently concluded 5th National General Council (NGC) which reaffirmed zero tolerance to corruption, both Cde Raymond Moraile and Cde Peter Legong are immediately placed on step aside from all
organisational and government responsibilities pending the finalisation of their legal processes. This step is taken to protect the integrity of the organisation and the credibility of public institutions.
The ANC is a necessary organisational intervention to uphold ethical leadership, public trust, and the movement’s renewal agenda. The ANC reiterates its unwavering commitment to intensifying the fight against corruption and all forms of malfeasance at every level of society.
