AFRICAN NATIONAL CONGRESS WELCOMES THE RETURN OF COMRADE MAHLENGI BHENGU

The African National Congress (ANC) warmly welcomes the return to duty of Comrade Mahlengi Bhengu as National Spokesperson following her period of medical recovery. The organisation is pleased that she has regained her strength, received medical clearance, and is ready to resume her responsibilities at a critical time as the ANC intensifies preparations towards the 2026 Local Government Elections.

The ANC extends its sincere appreciation to Acting Spokespersons Comrades Nonceba Mhlauli and Zuko Godlimpi for their commitment, discipline and professionalism in ensuring continuity within the Office of the National Spokesperson during this period. Their contribution strengthened the organisation’s communication work and ensured consistent engagement with South Africans on the ANC’s programmes and positions.

The ANC is confident that Comrade Mahlengi will continue to provide the leadership and experience required to advance the organisation’s communication efforts as the movement takes forward its message of renewal, service delivery and building better communities. The organisation wishes her continued strength and success as she resumes this important responsibility.
