The President of the African National Congress (ANC), Cde Cyril Ramaphosa, accompanied by the ANC National Officials, will on Monday, 05 January 2026, undertake a courtesy visit to Kgosi Pilane of the Bakgatla ba Kgafela in the North West Province.

This engagement is in accordance with African custom and tradition, which requires that traditional leadership be formally informed and consulted prior to the undertaking of activities within their jurisdiction. The visit affirms the ANC’s enduring respect for traditional institutions and their role in community leadership and governance.

The courtesy visit will take place following a meeting of the ANC National Executive Committee (NEC).

Immediately thereafter, the ANC leadership will engage with Traditional Leaders of the North West Province.

The updated programme below supersedes all previously communicated schedules.
