ANC RENEWAL GAINS MOMENTUM AS WE GROW STRONGER TOWARD 2026!

The African National Congress (ANC) celebrates the growing confidence of the people in our movement as we continue to make significant electoral gains. The recent by-elections held on Wednesday, 02 April 2025 have demonstrated that the ANC remains the trusted vehicle for transformation and development.

We proudly congratulate Councillor Mfundo Genu on his overwhelming victory in Ward 13, Intsika Yethu Municipality in the Chris Hani District, where we retained the ward with an impressive 83.08% of the vote.

This resounding endorsement reaffirms the people’s unwavering trust in the ANC’s leadership and commitment to service delivery.

In Ward 12, uPhongolo, we secured a critical victory, reclaiming the ward from the IFP. We salute Councillor Welcome Ntokozo Radebe for leading this charge. This victory, marked by an increased voter turnout and improved results, signals a shifting political landscape where the people are choosing the ANC to lead them forward. In Ward 09, Makhado, the ANC continues to dominate, with Councillor Khumbudzo Madzhini retaining the ward with an increased voter result of 65.68%. This demonstrates the ANC’s deep roots in communities that remain committed to a people-centered government.

We acknowledge that we faced setbacks in Ward 82 and Ward 99 in the City of Johannesburg and in Ward 28 in Kwa-Dukuza, KwaZulu-Natal where our former councillor who defected won. However, these results have emboldened our resolve! This result proves that the people are returning to the ANC as we intensify efforts to rebuild, renew, and reclaim lost ground ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections.

To our members, volunteers, supporters, and voters who came out in numbers in all these by-elections, we thank you! The ANC is regaining strength, growing in support, and marching towards victory. Our Renewal Programme is working, and we will continue to rebuild trust, deliver services, and fight for a better

life for all!
