The African National Congress (ANC) Secretary-General, Comrade Fikile Mbalula, will on Monday, 06 April 2026, lead the annual commemoration of Solomon Kalushi Mahlangu at Mamelodi West Cemetery, with the Mahlangu family and the broader community. This commemoration stands as a solemn tribute to a revolutionary martyr of the liberation struggle, whose courage and ultimate sacrifice continue to inspire the nation’s ongoing pursuit of freedom, justice, and equality.

The commemoration reaffirms the ANC’s commitment to preserving the memory of liberation heroes and inspiring current and future generations to uphold the values for which they fought. The Mahlangu family will lead the 52 steps taken by Cde Solomon Mahlangu in the gallows, accompanied by NEC members, Provincial and Regional leadership. Members of the media are invited to attend and cover the proceedings as follows:
