The African National Congress (ANC) congratulates ESKOM’s strides and progress in addressing load-shedding which has a debilitating effect on livelihoods, the economy, investment and job creation.

This sterling work has led to the improvement of eight of the fourteen power stations registering a 70% of Energy Availability Factor (EAF). This include the 91% electricity generation by one of the power stations. This achievement represents a significant improvement from 48% in 2023 which plunged the country into darkness and near economic collapse.

The 70% is a massive increase in the percentage of these power stations to contribute to the national grid, ensuring reliable and increased energy supply. In addition to this achievement the ANC welcomes the work done in addressing persistent load-reduction.

We look forward to a more functional utility capable of optimally discharging its mandate of supplying electricity.
