The African National Congress mourns the passing of Cpl T.J. Motsamai, a soldier of the South African National Defence Force who lost his life in the line of duty during Operation CORONA.

Cpl Motsamai’s death is a painful reminder of the risks borne daily by the men and women who serve our Republic with courage, discipline and selflessness. He made the ultimate sacrifice in the defence of our peopleand the safeguarding of our sovereignty.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, loved ones, the entire SANDF and the people of South Africa.

We honour his service and salute his commitment to duty.

May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his family draw strength from the nation’s gratitude and solidarity.
