ANC Statements

The national senior rugby team, affectionately called the Springboks will be carrying the hopes of the nation and flying the South African flag at the Rugby World Cup in France. For the Springboks, this is a familiar territory as they embark on a campaign to defend the cup which they have won on many occasions.

For many years, the Springboks have been unifiers and the pride of the nation, hoisting the South African flag locally and globally.

The ANC joins the South African rugby and sport-loving nation in support of the Springboks on their campaign to bring the coveted trophy home. The national mood is high, buoyed by the positive posture, preparedness, mental and physical strength and determination to win the World Cup, raising the nation’s pride.

For the duration of the World Cup, the ANC, together with all South Africans, will be cheering the Boks, singing Shosholoza, and waving the nation’s flag African flag in support.
