ANC Statements

The African National Congress has taken a decision to reconfigure the National Youth Task Team (NYTT). The decision stems from a meeting of the National Working Committee held on Tuesday, 28 March 2023. The meeting assessed and commended the work of the NYTT to date. It is common cause that the formation of the ANCYL became a reassurance that the movement is being reinvigorated.

This is best expressed in the ANCYL manifesto which reads “The formation of the African National Congress Youth League is an answer and assurance to the critics of the national movement that African Youth will not allow the struggles and sacrifices of their fathers to have been in vain. Our fathers and mothers fought so that we, better equipped when our time came, should start and continue from where they stopped.”

The ANC NWC has decided that the NYTT needs to be reconfigured and augmented with individuals who can add impetus to the task of ensuring that a credible National Conference of the Youth League takes place within three months.
